Providence, R.I. — 2.12.2026 — Slater Technology Fund portfolio company Adept Materials has launched Lilypad™, a humidity-regulating paint and primer system designed to help buildings passively manage indoor moisture.

Slater was the first institutional investor in Adept Materials in 2021, backing the company around the idea that everyday building materials can do more than serve a static function.

Lilypad reflects that approach. The system absorbs excess humidity when moisture levels rise and releases it as conditions dry, helping stabilize indoor environments without added energy or mechanical systems.

Built on Adept’s Vaporwisp™ technology, the system pairs a moisture-buffering paint with a breathable primer, reducing humidity swings that contribute to mold, discomfort, and long-term building damage.

This launch marks an important step in translating advanced materials research into practical, scalable products for the built environment.
